The Centre technologique des résidus industriels (CTRI) owns a significant amount of analysis and measurement instruments to carry out a number of useful studies in several sectors of activity and according to industry standards.

  • Determination of metals in water, soil, sludge and sediments by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer and microwave plasma atomic emission mass spectrometry
  • Determination of rare earth elements and precious metals in minerals by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer and X-ray fluorescence spectrometry
  • Analysis of anions present in process waters, mine and municipal effluents by ion exchange chromatography
  • Physicochemical characterization of effluents by measurement of pH, alkalinity, acidity, conductivity, oxidoreduction potential, ammonia nitrogen, chemical oxygen demand, dissolved solids and suspended solids

Analysis of organic compounds, sugars and carbohydrates by high-performance liquid chromatography

Leaching trials to assess the mobility of inorganic species (TCLP or toxicity characteristic leaching procedure) or for the simulation of acid rain (SPLP or synthetic precipitation leaching procedure)

Analysis of organic contaminants such as petroleum hydrocarbons, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and the phenolic compounds in wastewater and soil by gas-chromatography mass phase spectrometry

Determination of organic and inorganic carbon in water by combustion and infrared detection
