M. Jorjani holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mineral Processing from Amirkabir University of Technology, as well as a Ph.D. in Hydrometallurgy from the Science and Research Branch of Azad University, Tehran, Iran, with part of his doctoral research conducted in collaboration with Hasselt University in Belgium.
He has more than 26 years of experience in mineral processing and hydrometallurgy, with work focused on lithium, nickel, copper, cobalt, rare earth elements, gold, iron, alumina, zinc, and coal projects. His experience includes hydrometallurgy, biohydrometallurgy, flotation, and physical separation.
From 1998 to 2016, he served as a full-time Faculty Member (Associate Professor) at the Science and Research Branch of Azad University, where he taught graduate courses, supervised graduate students, and collaborated on research and industrial projects in mineral processing and hydrometallurgy.
Between 2015 and 2016, he worked as a Visiting Faculty Member and Research Associate with the Hydrometallurgy Research Group at Queen’s University in Canada. From 2017 to 2023, he worked as an independent hydrometallurgist. Since 2023, he has been working at CTRI as a Senior Metallurgist on projects related to mineral processing and hydrometallurgy, with activities involving critical and strategic minerals, lithium extraction from spodumene, lithium geometallurgy, nickel hydrometallurgy, bioleaching, and battery recycling.
