Graduate of the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Bucharest (1996) and the Faculty of Economic Sciences at Valahia University of Targoviste (2004), Laura Calugaru worked as a Chemist in Romania, a Chemistry Teacher at the Cégep de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue (since 2008) and a Researcher at the CTRI since 2012. She graduated from the master’s degree program in Mineral Engineering at UQAT (2014). Her research work, under the supervision of Carmen Mihaela Neculita (UQAT), Bruno Bussière (UQAT), Thomas Genty (CTRI) and Robin Potvin (CTRI) concerns the modification of natural materials and industrial waste and the application of metal and metalloid retention of mining drainage. Laura Calugaru is currently continuing her research on the same subject in the context of a doctorate in Mineral Engineering at UQAT.
