Holder of a PhD in Environmental Sciences from l’Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue and a PhD in Environment from l’Institut des sciences et industries du vivant et de l’environnement (AgroParisTech) in France, Mr. Bouafif joined the CTRI in January 2011 as a Project Manager and was then promoted to Coordinator of the Biomass Sector at the beginning of 2012. He brings his expertise in physicochemical characterization, wood product commodity development, biomaterials made with lignocellulosic fiber, wood product surface chemistry, secondary and tertiary wood processing as well as his advanced technical knowledge in these matters to our institution. He was appointed and has worked as Director General of the Centre since September 2013.
